Hand gestures...

Hmmm...those require line of sight, the individuals being signalled at looking in your direction, and sufficient lighting to notice and make sense of the gestures.

And guess what...we have none of these prerequisites?!

I'll do some remote piloting of PCs at lunch time to get things in order.

Kuublu tells Kgosi Olmar firmly

"I do not want bloodshed, and I do not think Malim wants that either. I am strongly inclined to announce your return and after introductions, I introduce myself and congratulate Malim for his initiative in securing the village. It is a time for celebration and we are all thankful for Malim. We need the villagers to celebrate with us and then I will offer to escort Malim to the Great Chieftain and report his fine work, and suggest that we give him a bordering guard role, I mean, a rich fief."

If everyone is ok with the plan, Kuublu gives the villagers a briefing on what has been accomplished, Kgosi Olmar's return, the defeat of the mother of moons, lifting of the curse and how the Great Chieftain was notified. (I need to read those earlier posts, whasisname?)

Ok I'm not against this plan per se. I'm just unsure if the way tribal government and politics work, will allow this plan to work. But then again I do not have a good grasp of how those work anyways. But here are my doubts and questions:
1. Can the Great Chieftain appoint a man to be Chief over a village or tribe? Is this even within his authority or power? I don't know how this can work in a world where hereditary rulership systems seems to be the order of the day.
2. Are the villagers capable of understanding and successfully carrying out this rather complex political display of a sham celebration? In fact is it likely this level of political sophistication is beyond the tribe and even Olmar?
3. Even if all the above were to work out as planned, the jury is still out as to whether Malim would accept and stand down. Or perhaps he will choose to fight. Or perhaps Malim maybe amenable but his mercenaries choose to fight. And they would have time to prepare and organize themselves for a bloody bout. As we can all see, myriad possibilities here that are outside of our control. A veritable can of worms.

I'm in favor of more conventional tactics, which are more certain of success to my mind. What I mean is a straightforward subduing of Malim and his mercenaries, by stealth, with overwhelming force of arms, and minimal bloodshed if possible. Such that Malim and his men may only choose between surrendering or dying. As for what happens to them afterwards, whether imprisonment, exile, execution or whatever, I would prefer to leave it up to Olmar and the village people.

However Ak'kulula recognizes and would follow Kubluu's leadership. And the boy doesn't know anything about tribal politics to have an opinion on it. So if the Prince says this will work and this is the way it's going to be done, Ak'kulula will follow.

The villagers need to cheer the return of Kgosi Olmar. That is truth. Kuublu will do the talking as long as he doesn't lose his voice.

Kuublu only needs to sell it to him. As to whether the deal is good, Malim will have to find out, but I don't think he wants bloodshed. He'll have to live an outlaw existence and be on the run all the time.

Only if Olmar had been a particularly popular Chief during his tenure. We are unsure of that.

As I said, too much uncertainty and too many moving parts. Compared to a straightup assault. But yeah Ak'kulula will go with Kubluu to the gates of Hades (almost!) to correct the current succession "issue".

Ah, if only Kuublu had a really high looks score, he could inspire the village to sacrifice themselves and charge dragons with pitchforks.... 13 is all he has....

If Kubluu had Looks 18, he would probably already be King of the United Tribal Confederacy of Mungoda... :D

Look forward to the big encounter! With Kubluu's new tactics in play, I am now uncertain how things will turn out. Whether this is to be diplomatic encounter, or a bloody massacre, or...;D But I look forward to surviving all that and making Rank 2 soon!

This is only the opening Act in the campaign. Hah...there's more to come later in these hot sweltering jungles. More dangerous creatures, more ghosts, more tribal intrigue, and more comedy! :D

No rush, keep thinking I want to run a game but nah, too much effort. I can't even find time to read the instruction manual for my mobile phone. And over 100 games on gog.com and steam.....
