Throwing fire around in this confined space may not be the best idea, so Chiemeka casts Sebak’s Wasting (Weaken) at the warrior that Ak is attacking.

The other companions joined Ak'kulula back in the main corridor and continued on their way, Etwa holding the torches up high.

After a few minutes they began approaching the end of the corridor. Double doors lay ahead—of rich black wood bound with verdigris stained copper. There is a smaller stone door in the right wall, and another passage leading off to the left.

Before you reach the doors, an iron portcullis drops down to block your way. A harsh clang makes you turn—another portcullis has fallen across the foot of the stairway. A warm breeze rushes down the corridor. Even as you watch, the four carvings of the warriors become three dimensional and step into the corridor behind you. They carry stone shields and knobkerrie, still in the faded hue of the stonework, and their skin is the same.

Now this is something Kuublu can handle. He advances on them. Tries to keep with the party so he doesn't get flanked so he won't advance alone.

Ak'kulula launched into a frenzy of blows upon the nearest living carving his strikes were all true but his machete rang off the stony hide more than once, leaving only one mark upon his foe.

Kuublu fared as well, his spear blows rained down on the emotionless enemy but succeeded only in chipping away a small part.

Chiemekas curse was effective and the enemy facing Ak'kulula stumbled and turned towards him balefully, another taking its place before the boy. he struck out twice with his staff, the ironwood rattling across his foes features and leaving a number of small cracks.

Pulgil struck at her foe, somewhat amazed to see stone move as if alive but her mind on the battle. her spear struck again and again but was unable to pierce the stone of her enemy.

Whether because of the strength of the companions or because they were still unused to movement none of the stony warriors blows landed but their stone knobkerrie came very close to removing the heads of both Chiemeka and Kuublu.

Etwa pressed himself back against the iron bars, whimpering....

OOC: Two of the stone warriors have suffered ( -4 hp) wounds and another ( -3 hp ) wounds and one is Weakened. None of you are wounded.

Kuublu calls upon the spirits of his ancestors to protect him as he continues to attack.

Ak'kulula does not let his opponent go but follows it as it moves to target Chiemeka. He follows up with another series of furious attacks on the unyielding stone of its skin...

Chiemeka pulls his dagger and moves with Ak to double-team the warrior that is attacking them:

Kuublu has more success striking hard at his enemy and his spear pierces the same spot he had struck before twice in quick succesion, the warrior dissolves into fine dust which is caught by an invisible breeze and whipped back down the corridor to appear again upon the wall.

Pulgil attacks her enemy and also brings it down but not before sustaining a solid blow to her side.

Ak'kulula works quickly to bring down the warrior that had turned away from him but in doing so leaves himself vulnerable to another, he brings down the damaged enemy quickly with some distracting by Chiemeka, but he is struck solidly about the shoulders by the other warrior.

Free of their enemies Pulgil and Kuublu are able to come to Ak'kululas aid and quickly finish off the one attacking him.

As the last warrior retakes its place upon the wall both of the iron gates ascend back into the ceiling.

OOC:

Pulgil ( -4 hp)
Ak'kulula ( -4 hp)

The dice were unkind to Chiemeka....

Ak'kulula grimaces as he daubs some cloth in water and cleans his own wound. Binding up his own injury, he looks to see if Pulgil needs any help with hers. He takes up his machete and gives Kubluu a grave nod, ready to continue.

Chiemeka offers to use his magic to heal Pulgil and Ak.

If they accept he will use Lesser Healing to recover 2 HP each

Ak'kulula looks at Chiemeka gratefully but shakes his head in a respectful decline. Indeed he looks alright and ready to continue the exploration. He walks on ahead beside the Prince.
