Kuublu peers into the distance.

"Well, doesn't look like there is anything for some distance. Shall we revisit this?"

Ak'kulula furrows his brow at the corridor. Something is off about this passageway, but he just couldn't put his finger on what.

"Hold your Highness..."

He retrieves his sling, claps a stone in it, twirls and releases a shot at the closest red lantern. His intention is to try and smash it, knocking it to the floor.

OOC - Smash nearest lantern: 1d20 9
The distance to the nearest lantern is a mere 10 metres. So no penalty to the shot. Right GM?

The stone flies true and hits the lamp, but seems to have no effect....in fact to his sharp ears the sound is more like stone striking stone than stone striking metal....his senses tell him that the area is enchanted but he already knew that because otherwise the lamps would not be still lit after so many centuries below ground...something is strange here...

"If we are going to take a long subterranean trip, let us explore the rest of this place first… Seems like there is nothing there."

"Those are not lamps. That much is sure..." Ak'kulula gives a final glance at the flimsy red lamps that his sling shot had hit and failed to knock to the floor, then turns and nods at Kubluu. "Lead on your Highness. I shall follow."

Weapon at the ready, the Mystic follows the Prince as he leads the party back into the altar room, then towards the double doors in the west wall. He pads silently up to the doors and places his ear on them.

OOC - Can Ak'kulula sense or hear anything?

Ak'kululas mundane senses hear nothing but the hairs stand up on his arms, and he hears in his thoughts other thoughts of another mind...he cannot catch their meaning but he knows there is someone ahead......and that they carry danger with them...

Carefully and silently he pushes the doors open, beyond the double doors lies a 3m-wide corridor which leads west. A little over 15m away from where you are standing, it is joined by another corridor leading north.

The east-west corridor is gloomy, illuminated only by the murky light of your torch. But you can see bright light flooding from the northern branch.

Holding up his hand, gesturing that the company should wait, Ak'kulula sneaks down the short 15 meters to peek carefully around the corner into the brightly lit northern corridor...

OOC - Stealth, peek around corner: 2d10 14 vs Stealth of 14.

You walk towards the T-junction. In the bright bar of light thrown across the corridor from the northern branch, you now notice a looming shadow. Someone is waiting just around the next corner. You pause and hold your breath as you study the outline of the shadow.

The figure appears to be a thin female form, wearing some sort of elaborate crown or circlet and appears to be unarmed......

OOC: Do you still wish to peek around the corner.

Heart in his mouth, Ak'kulula pulls back immediately. These caverns are ancient. Whatever being that still inhabits them will most likely not be human. Nor of as friendly a disposition as the Great Beast in the underground lake. He backs up as quietly as he can, and returns to his waiting comrades. Once safely back into the altar room, he pulls the double doors shut softly, then turns around and shares his findings. Keen eyes look from face to face, seeking answers and thoughts to this situation...

OOC - Was Ak'kulula able to see if that form belonged to a human?

OOC: Human female, tall ( 2.1m), very thin...no hair or shaved head.

"Not everything is hostile. Perhaps she will test our intellect and ask us riddles?"

Kuublu is happy to go and greet her, if no one else objects.
