Ak'kulula shivers uncontrollably at what had just happened. He steps back immediately after the spirit had disappeared, crouching down to sit on the hard stone floor. Crossing his legs in a comfortable lotus position, he forces himself to relax, closes his eyes and focuses inward, examining himself for any change, any curse, any new presence within himself.

Seconds pass into minutes, and the Mystic finally opens his eyes. Suppressing another shudder, he turns to Chiemeka with a certain amount of dread in his brown eyes. "What was that Revered Sir? Do you know what that apparition was and what had just happened?"

Ak'kulula found nothing to be amiss with himself and noted that the subtle aura of cold fear and frustration on the edge of his senses had been replaced by almost a feeling of peace or contentment.

Behind the two men their companions slowly regained the use of their muscles....

Kuublu raises his open hands to signify that the bad medicine has finished its course.

"That was close, perhaps she was looking for freedom and you showed her the path."

Kuublu stretches himself, swinging his arm as he regains his mobility.

Etwa rouses as Kuublu does and comes forward to stand beside Ak'kulula.

" I believe.....if I am not mistaken....that that unfortunate was Maha. A servant girl who sought to rival Mtho for Ndars affections.....the folk tales say...well some say...that she grew obsessed enough to strike out at Mtho....others say that Mthos jealousy grew so vast that she cursed the girl.....she was cast into the fast flowing waters and the cold dragged her down....it was said that her drowning cries could be heard in the morning mists on the river."

"A sorrowful circumstance, with the purest of intents. We could not help her immense obstacles in destiny, but we can sympathize. What is unattainable, must be left with the hopes and desires of the lviing."

Ak'kulula shakes his head sadly at the tragic tale. "I hope she has finally found her rest now..."
"Shall we onwards your Highness?" He nods at Kubluu, then Pulgil and Chiemeka.

Kuublu nods. He will lead the party beyond the passageway where she was standing in.

The northern branch of the corridor, where the the spirit was lying in wait, extends only a few metres and then
ends in stout ebony doors bound with iron. The light comes from a glowing amber globe hanging from the ceiling.

Shining your torch west, you discover that the transverse corridor also ends in double doors after another eight or ten metres.

Ak'kulula runs his magically enhanced gaze all over the ebony double doors checking for both signs of magic as well as signs of traps and hidden whachamalits. If he notices nothing, the Mystic creeps closer to listen on its black surface.

The lads enhanced senses see no dweomers on either set of doors....he senses danger from both but is unsure what kind....he detects no thoughts from beyond the other doors but behind the ebony doors he is puzzled by what he 'hears'...quiet whispers of minds...at least two...on the very cusp of silence....
