For those who are not wounded, maybe they can scout around for a fresh water source.

A quick scout about the ruins reveals some standing water among the stones....coming closer to the central tree there are hollows where rainwater has collected....it seems moderately clean...the most recent rain was not many days ago.

As we are scouting do we happen to see any game that would do for lunch?

OOC: There are no animals in here that you can see. Some birds high up in the tree but you can't see them just hear them.

Chastu will start to collect water, whilst looking around for any danger.

The group establish a small camp under the central tree and share water and rations. Soon enough it is the midnight hour, overhead all is dark as clouds have rolled in and obscure the moon and stars.

Noting when Chiemeka recovers, Kuublu suggests to the others that it might be best to wait until dawn before we venture further, its too dark.

Jafari sets up a couple of trip wires over likely paths to our camp using his ball of string "should get some bells for this type of thing" he mutters to himself as he works on it.

Chastu waits out the dawn. Perhaps a good time to share some stories, he thinks.

Watches are set and the night passes without incident, though there are crashes of breaking branches and the sound of mighty wings beating the air in the jungle outside the citadel.

Waking on the morn the group are still presented with the choice of fortress or temple.

Rising early Kuublu and Chiemeka take a closer look at the fortress:

The wreckage of wide wooden gates block the entrance to the fortress. Clambering through the broken timber, you come into a courtyard surrounded by scorched walls and choked with battered masonry upon which may be seen verdant clumps of ferns. A few stagnant pools add to the air of desolation.

The block surrounding the courtyard is reduced to a gutted shell, but the four guard towers are marginally more intact. You approach the entrance to the nothernmost tower which seems the most intact.

The entrance tunnel is low, and the stairwell of the tower damp—and dark, despite gaping holes in the walls and roof. A decayed wooden ramp sweeps up to the first floor balcony.
