"Animals.. maybe they fear the fire!"

Kuublu indicates the direction south he wants to take. He grabs some burning stick, something that might stay alight for the next 40 minutes. Animals they may be, might help him 'move' these things if he runs into them...

Chiemeka holds his hands up to Kuublu.

"There are other ways of creating fire if we need it, Your Highness. I suggest you keep your shield and asegai to hand."

Kuublu stamps out the burning brand.

"Very well."

Kuublu glances through the settlements listening for screams of wounded or civilians.

As the trio had noted before, the settlement was utterly silent except for the crackling of flames....

Uruka follows behind; eager to test his new powers.

Kuublu leads the advance further into the village. Is there some kind of main building?

The largest building is just off the trade road and was passed on the way in, it is full ablaze now and has partially collapsed, other buildings are now beginning to collapse in on themselves as they are totally consumed by the fire....

OOC: Kuublu looks for traces of what could've done this, animal or man. Any sign of running? paws? Those blood splashes, would they suggest 2 handed weapons or maybe just tearing flesh and ripped bodies? No sign of feeding?

OOC: Um....all those questions have already been answered in preceeding posts. *confused face*

Running into the burning kraal they looked around for survivors but found the place eerily silent save the crackling of flames, Chiemeka eventually located a mans body bisected at the waist. Kuublu found another with his neck broken and some large chunks missing from his torso and thighs.

They were only at the buildings closest to the roadway so far....

The trio moved through the burning village finding few bodies, Kuublu however noted a large number of tracks among the many human and goat prints on the dusty ground; tracks like those left by bustards but much larger...larger than both his feet together....and among them two sets of tracks even larger...similar to marabou stork prints....

Searching rear buildings a few other bodies were found, mostly adult males either cut in twain or ravaged by something hard and sharp......coming to the back of the village the entire kraal was pulled down and pieces of it were still attached to the thick liana ropes that had been used to do so.

Kuublu followed the tracks and found many human and goat prints heading out across the shattered acacia wall into the long grass towards the south.
