Jaafan grinned, despite the pain in his shoulder and the captives that hadn’t made it to the forrest, he’d helped many escape, at least so far. Continuing to pull the two young children along with him, Jaafan burst in to the jungle and kept running. First he needed to put enough tree and foliage between himself and the volucreth to avoid javelins, then he planned on steering himself toward where the strange made had come through the forrest. The shouts of the terror birds suggested that they had run in to more than just a single frightened male, and there was a chance that bold warriors had tracked the Volucreth. Jaafan wasn’t content with just escaping. If he could find these warriors and join them in killing these foul birdmen he would be eager for the fight. |

Chiemeka will stand his ground with Kuublu and slingshot any Volucreth he can get a clear shot at (he knows his aim isn't great and he doesn't want to hit a fleeing captive...), until such time as they are in range of Dragonbreath/Shadowbolt, or until the Volucreth get too close for comfort! Slingshot at Volucreth: 1d20 19 "Fore!" |

Kuublu and Chiemeka readied their slings as Uruka recovered his weapon and rejoined them, they were just about to release their stones at the approaching figures when they were suddenly revealed to be frightened humans and not attacking Volucreth. |

Jaafan burst from the jungle and found himself face to face with three startled looking men, two whirling slings and another carrying a thin iron blade....he released the two children at his side to continue running as he faced the men. |

Kuublu catches his own sling shop, he hands his sling to the stranger and drops any the rocks that he gathered as he readies his Assegai and looks beyond the humans.... |

Jaafan opened his mouth to speak until the sling was shoved at him. He took it for a moment, confused, and then shook his head. "You men, you are armed! Are war band hunting the Volucreth?! Come! Let us attack these bird folk while they are disorganized in their attempts to collect the slaves!" He shouted as he raised his stolen volucreth blade and wheeled around to lead the way back toward his former captors. |

Kuublu clutches at the strangers arm. "We are too few! Lets grab the children and save what we can!" Kuublu drops the sling and reaches out for one of the kids. He gives the others a look before proceeding to run.... |

As the stranger’s arm tugs him back, Jaafan turns to them with a quizzical expression. If they were too few now, their numbers were unlikely to change soon, and the disorganization caused by his slave escape would end and leave them at nothing but a worse disadvantage. He opened his mouth to speak, stopped, turned to look back toward the volucreth camp, turned back to the strangers, and frowned. After a moment he made to follow them, hoping that perhaps they were a vanguard instead of merely cowards. He looked down at his new Volucreth blade and the cloth rags his captors had allowed him to wear, making a dissapproving clicking sound at the sight. |

Uruka helps with the children his enhanced strength allowing him to carry perhaps two easily. |
