Kuublu asks if anyone heard anything during the night. He will also look for tracks.

Nobody admits to hearing anything including the others that were on watch..

Kuublu gets down on his hands and knees and inspects the area where the two were laying after a short while he finds a faint impression like a slide mark in the leaf litter, it is about 1m wide and disappears into the heavy scrub when he tries to follow it...

OOC:

16:23, Today: Damian May, for the NPC Kuublu, rolled 4 using 2d10.

"Looks like they were dragged away! #$*$*!!" Kuublu flies into a non-princely, commoner swearing fit for a while. It has been troublesome as it is and to lose more innocents to some predator...

Kuublu will investigate, see if there are recognizable predator paw marks or any indication what carried them away. Perhaps it is time to 'find food', and with luck those two will still be alive...

Any indication that it would be worth while to track the predator? If not, Kuublu will consider somehow covering himself in blood and seeing if 'something' will try to carry him off the next night..

Jaafan remembered stories of ghosts stealing people from camps in the night, but ghosts would not leave drag marks. Combine that with the disappearance of the drag marks in the scrub, and Jaafan suspects a snake of some kind. He rushes to where the drag marks end and quickly tries to climb the nearest tree, saying his prayer for forgiveness as he does so instead of before. Perhaps the creature that took the two might still be near enough to spot in the early morning light, or perhaps it was in the very trees he was climbing in to!

Kuublu notes there are no paw prints....if the slide mark is that of a serpent it is one of truly immense size....

Jaafan scans the area as best he can as the morning rain begins to fall through the canopy, he notes no obvious signs nearby....though perhaps further out....or is it better to move on before more are lost to the Forest of Storms....

Jaafan quickly climbs down from the tree and approaches the other escapees to put it to a vote. Either go search for the two missing people or move on. He votes to search for the missing, as he feels abandoning a child to the beasts of the jungle just after freeing them would be unfortunate, and he is willing to risk his safety at least to try and find the missing people. However, he would understand any vote to move on. They risk their lives simply by being here, and many of the escapees likely have kin to return to outside the Forest of Storms. He will abide by whatever the escapees vote for by majority.

Kuublu is furious. Maybe he's not thinking straight, but he suddenly desires big snake steak, and preferably whilst a big snake is looking on... Bit sick maybe so is Kuublus' humour at this moment....

Most of the former prisoners had lost someone the previous night in the compound and were resigned to losing more before they made it home if they got there, others were resolved not to lose a single one more....by the end of a few minutes conversation things were split almost fifty-fifty between the two opinions....

Kuublu wonders whether they should split, half of them can make their way back, well, all of the civilians and we adventurers try to rescue the missing ones.

Chiemeka will try to persuade the others that they will be safer together, but if they are determined to leave, he will offer to go with them.
