”With the greatest respect Mistress Laila you mock things of which you have no understanding. Vallandr was not just a great king he was and is part of the very fabric of this land. He is all that is good and righteous in Albion...or so the tales tell us... Corvin finishes somewhat lamely, realising he’s essentially agreeing in substance with Laila’s observations.

Calder ponders over the words that the companions exchanged. He asks,”was the king very rich in real life? Or the riches rumors?”

Laila grinned a blew Corvin a kiss.

”Let us all hope you are wrong Mistress Laila” Corvin muttered stiffly, his cheeks reddening from their usual pale waxy hue at Laila’s gesture.

Laila's remark draws a grin from Lucky. "You're probably right. But after all of the mundane, worldly trials we've been through, it'd be nice to deal with elves and spirits for a change. I'd like to hope our little crusade involves a bit more...wonder, I guess."

Lucky suppresses a shudder as he reflects on his time as a beggar. "As Sten might have hinted, I'm no longer convinced of the piousness of our last crusade. I'm fortunate he, well, rescued me, frankly."
He wonders if he's starting to make this awkward.

"But yeah, elves or no elves, maybe we'll learn something, right Corwin?"

”It’s Corvin, not Corwin. A name one day all will know and remember. But yes Lucky a little knowledge to brighten this dark world, and your mind, would be a good thing. Elves though...well tales of how men fare dealing with them are a coin toss between good fortune and despair. Perhaps let’s hope we don’t meet too many capricious sprites!”

So Bretwald you suggest staying at Gully's Inn? His prices are steep and there have always been rumors of odd happenings i myself would be just as happy to move past his inn and find a place to camp.
What say the rest of you ?

”That’s interesting indeed. What sort of things have you heard?” Corvin asks eagerly.

" We can camp by the roadside if you wish. I doubt anyone would bother such a hearty group!"
