Lucky tries to press his advantage and thrusts at his enemy again. His spear strikes true, impaling his opponent, who, despite the grimace that crosses his shadowed face, still stands.
Corvin bursts from concealment in the trees charging Jharak with his shortsword held high bellowing an indecipherable Cornumbrian war cry. Hoping to deceive Jharak and generally inspire fear of getting cut to ribbons he sneakily launches another Dragonbreath spell at the Scoundrel. He hits the foul Jharak, but only just..
Calder is worried as he missed but when the enemy missed, he secretly cheers. Jumping, he slashes at the enemy but the slight fear causes him to miss.
Laila suddenly leapt forward driving her seax hard toward the face of one of her foes, smashing into the irksome fellow, who was already hurting from Godric’s arrow.
Godric’s luck didn’t hold this time around as the sweat from the excitement of battle caused him to miss his shot, dropping his bow.
The priest managed to drag himself to the fray and quite out of keeping, managed to drive his staff into the midriff of one of the cultists.
Jharak returns fire towards Corvin, who feels he may be hoist upon his own petard as he recognises the gestures for a Weaken spell. Luckily for Corvin, he shakes it off. He wonders what his own spell he cast earlier might still be doing.
Sten sees the glob sail past, and takes advantage of the opening in Serpent-Tongue’s defense, stabbing at him, causing a good hit.
Serpent-Tongue grunts, and returns the blow. (Sten – 3 pts of damage) The spittle flies again, and this time, close as the two men are, hits Sten in the face. It burns. Sten feels lucky as he wipes it off his face, that he was guarded by his beard. Should it have reached his bare skin, or worse, his eyes, that would have been a different matter. (Sten –2 pts of damage)
The cultists attack. As they lay into you, three of them scream “The Murderling! It comes!” We’ll get to that… Lucky’s opponent slices at him, missing. Calder’s daddy armour proves true, blocking the cultist’s blow. The man who Laila assaulted stuck back, hitting a good blow on her (Laila – 3HP) One cur runs at Godric, slicing into the Mystic (3 HP damage) Bretwald avoids his opponents blow.
From the treeline you see what the blackclad men presumably refer to as the Murderling. Fully the size of three men, its black bulk moves slowly towards you. You see a man’s head atop the mass, and a number of arms wave swords at you…
