I didn't really get to play the games. Didn't have a regular crowd cept' for 2 players for palladium fantasy rpg but I'm curious as to what circumstances you encountered playing the games. I thought some of them were irritating, like the book 1 axe trap/loose slab (Obviously placed there by some ingenious Sapper!). Also in book 2 there is that Halberd that creates some kind of death spell if I recall correctly? Wonder if there is an intelligent way to grab that and wield it perhaps?

Did anyone try something interesting? Maybe with a super high looks score you could get Duke Darian to side with you or charm the stone statue in book 1 to sleep? Maybe your players did something outstanding that wasn't anticipated by the author of the adventures? Seduced Murkyn maybe?...

I ran them a lot back in the 1980s, when we were in high school - but I don't remember much about what we did back then. I ran the Elven Crystals as a trilogy in around 2000, at my local RPG club, which went reasonably well - all six characters died in part two, and most of them died in part three - and I trialled a 3rd edition D&D version of Shadow on the Mist that also ended in a TPK.

I adapted several of the adventures for my Selentia campaign http://members.optusnet.com.au/~pelari/campaign.htm, including Shadow on the Mist, The One Eyed God, Hunters Moon, and Prince of Darkness. Several of the NPCs from those adventures became recurring characters: Lord Karvala, Prince Fengil, and most importantly, Taliriana, the elf from Shadow on the Mist, who became fascinated with the dwarf's flintlock pistols and joined the adventurers to travel the world and experience the wonders of gunpowder. :)

Cheers,
