I had hoped that we could've learned the ways of the Selentine, the stories I heard of them conquering mountain fortresses and pacifying distant tribes with stones that fell from the heavens! We remain on the defensive while the Volucreth attack at whim. I would suggest we start attacks into their territory..."
Kuublu pauses, his eyes momentarily widen at the thought.... he inhales deeply....
"...but even the Jungle becomes angry. The nature spirits fight any intrusion into the great jungle."
Kuubl breaks off. Looks at Tillyo and smiles. He knows the topic is disheartening.
"We will think of something. It seems they are taking slaves, perhaps we can attack the slave traders, deprived of wealth, they would have nothing to trade for slaves and these raiding parties will cease."
Tillyo looked a little worried but directed Kuublu and any accompanying him through the gate and into the fort.
Within the stone courtyard of the fort was well kept and the barracks lay across the way, there was no one present except for a couple of men leaning against a small wooden building set against the interior of the wall, they came to attention as Kuublu approached and rapped on the wall with the butt of their spears as they did so.
A large man in his 50s emerged from the building his stomach sagging a little over his wrap though his arms and shoulders were still broad. His head was shaved and a squared beard jutted from his jaw.
" Hmm, who is this then? I wasn't informed of any visitors or deliveries today."
