Sten eats and talks over dinner
"Lucky and I met on the ship Seamist headed to the crusades. He was a handsome devil with a quick wit, we arrived at port and he got some kind of ailment and took ill. I went off with my unit. There was much fighting and honestly no glory to be had but apparently it is for the glory of God, however I fail to see it. I served my time and received the offer to return home which I jumped at.
Walking through the city a beggar approached me nothing unusual but his accent was, shocked to hear a voice from home I stopped and looked at this wretched man then I looked at his eyes...….. it was Lucky his face was well....gone. I took him with me, got him food etc. fought a duel to gain him his arms and armour back. I gave Lucky the will to fight on we come home …..and he gets mauled by wild dogs... I tried to help him to get to him but they were all over him...... I was too late"

Around midnight Corvin sends Calder to the farmhouse with the news that Lucky is improving and to keep up the round of prayers.

Calder finds his companions,saying,” Good news! Lucky is getting better but those of faith should continue praying for him. Now any food left for me? I’m famished.”

Corvin is quietly observing Lucky and administers various powders mixed in wine periodically.

Around midnight he will ask Calder quietly “Tell me Calder, what do you know of this quest the priest Bretwald would send us all off on?”

He pauses for a moment before finishing “And perhaps a strange question to ask about a holy man but...do you trust him?”
