Dragon Warriors

OOC - there's two threads in here. Lucky's midnight ministrations and the meal which is a few hours earlier. I'll leave Calder & Corvin to Lucky- here is the meal.

Despite the seriousness of what is happening with Lucky, those of you at the table appreciate the spread before you and the hospitality of the Widow Mavis.

The farm's dining room is a large affair and the spread laid out is bounteous. Of note is the bull's head mounted on the wall. Mavis catches you looking at it and chuckles. "Oh, yes. That's the bastard that took my Miles from me. Well, I couldn't have him out there thinking he'd got away with murder, could I, and Miles was always fond of him, I know not why?"

She passes you more food, piling your plates up.

" Smaklig Mat!", Laila exclaimed as she ate.

" Oh...uh...Excellent Food...in your tongue."

" This place reminds me of my familys gård, back home. My mother also runs it alone....though to hear her it is much easier to do so without my father around to get in the way of the real work."

" I haven't spent much time there recently since taking up with my uncles trading business.

Dinner-time

"Isn't that always the way?" says the friendly Mavis "Without the menfolk worrying us around we get things done. My boys, they've been brought up the right way, that's to say, they know their place. And, them as have courted, well the wives get along here."

She looks at Laila, almost as if sizing her up or taking her measure.

Sten enjoys the meal "Best meal I have had in five years, your home is truly blessed"

Sten looks at the apple pie dish trying to see if there are left overs.

Sten will be sorely disappointed as there is a decided lack of apple pie left. It would seem that his brave appetite has defeated the fiendish apple pie.

Mavis aspies Sten craning his head to see whether there is a sufficiency of apple pie left.

"You've finished that one, Sten. Make no bones about it, you've had the greatest appetite for pie of anyone I've met. If my little Aggie were still here, she'd give you a good running though."

A tear runs down from the normally good natured Mavis's eye and a sadness comes across her face as she reaches for her kerchief out of her sleeve.

Sten looks at Mavis concerned "Aggie ?"

Laila puts two and two together and sighs.

She lets Sten break the news.
