Laila's push on the black wooden double doors leads to them opening slightly. A blast of cool air puffs through the gap, and brings memories to Laila's mind of happy summers of years past. A peek through the gap in the doors leaves no clue to what is ahead. Darkness. |

Figuring she wasn't dead yet she pushed the door all the way open and raised a lantern to peer within. |

Laila's lanternlight shows her that a passage way lies past the doors. The flickering light describes rough hewn walls and a passage going on for perhaps 30 metres. At the end of that passage looks to be a wall. |

Laila pushes open the door and leads on into the passageway, followed by Lucky, Corvin and Calder. Drystan, Bedewere, Sten, and Bretwald stay back in the main corridor, guarding. Laila's lantern reveals a passage going west. The rough hewn wall are sharp to the touch. The end of the passage is soon met. Rather than the dead end suspected, it continues. Vertically. It's a steep wall. A glimmer of golden light can be seen at the top. This will continue in another thread. The four guards remain in this thread. |
