Max pushes the door open, and the party find a room ahead of them.

The companions enter a low-ceilinged chamber hung with sombre drapes. A flickering sanctuary lamp burns on an altar stone in an alcove in the east wall. A large crucifix hangs above this. There are double doors in the west wall and another small door, like the entrance to the room, is directly opposite.

" Not this Hanged God shite again.....no offence meant fellas."

" You know, Wotan originated the whole hanging thing....I reckon this young fisherman god of yours just nicked the idea."

Smiling to himself at the potential theological debate, Max makes an inspection of the area keeping his cross bow at the ready should he come across an entity that doesn’t have their best interests at heart.

Bretwald abases himself before the crucifix, muttering lines of scripture beneath his breath.

As you all look around, all that is evident in the room, save the sense of serenity and calm, and a smell of warm cinnamon, is the altar, and the exits to north and west.

Bedwere busies himself looking around the room, searching at walls.

Be careful what you mock. The power of the Lord both in heaven and on Earth knows no limits…”

Corvin sketches a hasty sign of the cross, hedging his bets…

Laila nodded, " As you say. No limits? That seems a bit much. I like my gods with flaws, makes em more relatable I reckon."

" So....thats a no to looting the place then? Its just kinda traditional with my folks...."

Well…ahem, no I wouldn’t go that far…we should seek to liberate any riches here from their lonely vigil and put them to good use…um errr in furtherance of the Lord’s work…obviously…”

Drystan, grinning at the theological debate in going on in the sanctuary, examines the altar.

Bretwald rises from his prostrations, brushing the dust away as he genuflects one last time.

Max finds nothing of note in the room bar the two doors that have not yet been opened, and Bedwere finds nothing upon the walls.

Drystan's inspection of the altar notes that it is plain wood of good craftmanship, yet not particularly ornate.
