5 surviving true Magi, but surely there were many more like Magus Zyn who could trap demons and bind them to eternal service?
There were no surviving True Magi from the Blasting of Spyte. Only one had a surviving heir - Magus Tor.
There is a clear suggestion that only one of the Magi managed to chain a Malgash, but that's not to say that other Magi didn't bind other, lesser demons. After all, there is now a Demonologist class available to play (see Players Handbook).
I encountered several names for Magi in the DW and Bloodsword books: Kalugen, Balhazar, Vyl, Venzor, Zyn, Uru, Horg, Laglor, Tor, Byl, Lym. These appear to be "Surname" or "House names"; as Laglor is the current Magus Tor, Aytarn the current Magus Byl, Rakov is Magus Lym and Jani is
Fata Uru. There's scope for making up plenty more as needed...

Wonder whether a fan made interpretation of bloodsword stories for the dragwars system would work? I can see so many unexplored parts of the Battlepits being reused.
Why not? Sounds like a dungeoneer's dream...
