Hello all, I've been playing dragon warriors since secondary school and university. Stopped playing for ages but my interest was rekindled with the 'new' edition.

I am the author Village of the Damned, one of the recent crop of gamebooks (or interactive fiction if you want to sound grown up). I am currently working on another gamebook which hopefully should be ready later this year.

Hi all.

Thanks for letting me join this little group. I'm a yank who loves tabletop RPGs but isn't much of a fan of 5e DnD so I'm always on the lookout for alternatives. What has drawn me to Dragon Warriors is the Lands of Legend setting. It's rare to see a world as steeped in history and folklore instead of just recycling Gary Gygax' ideas for the umpteenth time. The rules are quite nice to. I've never understood the idea that mages and sorcerers can't cast healing magic. That's a regular feature in mythology and legend. Merlin heals people all the time, and the three Mage Brothers from the legend of Koschei the Deathless bring Prince Ivan back from being chopped to pieces.

Anyway, looking forward to perusing fan materials you guys come up with. :D

Hi, I'm Asthanin, 45, currently residing in Melbourne, Australia. As this city is the current world champion for longest time spent in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, I have recently had a lot of time on my hands. The silver lining being that I have rediscovered this game which so fascinated me as a boy.

Welcome to both Torque and Asthanin. This place is a little quiet right now.

Asthanin, I'm 46 and in Melbourne - down in Frankston to be specific - I generally run Dragon Warriors each year at Conquest, Melbourne's Easter games convention.

How many Melbourne boys of the same age are in this thread...and how many of us picked up DW from Minotaur Books on Swanston St? I used to make in about one a month on a Saturday morning and visit Minotaur, Mind Games, the Dungeon in Royal Arcade, and a couple of years later, Napoleons' Military Books in a CBD laneway somewhere. If any of that rings a bell, you're my kindred...
