How many Melbourne boys of the same age are in this thread...and how many of us picked up DW from Minotaur Books on Swanston St? I used to make in about one a month on a Saturday morning and visit Minotaur, Mind Games, the Dungeon in Royal Arcade, and a couple of years later, Napoleons' Military Books in a CBD laneway somewhere. If any of that rings a bell, you're my kindred...

Well, I live in Melbs now but I grew up in country SA.

Hi all, Tel here. Just ordered the Hardback for DW's after getting inspired by podcasts and livestreams and am interested in helping fill tables if/when people are running con games again here in Melbourne.

I've not played Dragon Warriors but Hob's Dell really made an impression on me when I borrowed the paperbacks from a fellow kid back in the late 80's.

Hi all,
I also hail from Melbourne and am the right age bracket to have coveted a friend's Dragon Warriors paperbacks and reading Hob's Dell in particular shaped my early sensibilities about fantasy TTRPGs. Few decades later and the POD of the Serpent King edition is now in my hands!.

Looking forward to trying out a few of the solo releases.

Cheers,
Dae

Hi all. Currently living in Sydney (but from Queensland) I was given the first DW 4 books for my birthday in 1987 and was instantly hooked. I has played ADND for a couple of years before hand and dearly wanted my own source books, my auntie did not understand the difference between DW and DND though... I am kind of glad she didnt! I managed to pick the last 2 books up from a local bookstore the following year and spent my teenage years running games with my friends.

Later I moved back to ADND mainly for the richness of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for a few years, but then put my books away to play the game of life... many wasted years. I have joined a few groups here and there for some table top games and had a good few years on a hardcore Neverwinter Nights role play persistent world and even created a few of my own adventures on the old NWN vault (god I feel old writing this).

Now I find myself working in video game development and beginning work on a personal (non-commercial) passion project, staring into a space on my shelf thinking of the rich worlds I have played in and loved that could serve as a basis for a digital RPG. On the left of the shelf are six paperbacks, 4 covered in blue contact as that was my favourite colour as a boy, the other two with worn covers; all six with yellowed pages that have seen far too many eager young fingers over the years. I smile and think to myself, "For almost 35 years I have carried those books all around the country, defending them to any that asked, and now I know why!"

I may ask some pesky lore questions from time to time, and I will try to contribute as much as I can in return.

Trying again as my last post was not approved (or was missed). While researching for a video game concept I am working on I dug out my original copies of the Dragon Warriors series and decided to see if there were any more resources online... leading me to this forum.

Just wanted to say hello.

Hey Coralon, thanks for introducing yourself. And great that you're being inspired by Dragon Warriors for your creative/gaming projects. Most of the activity these days happens on Discord (https://discord.com/invite/wkWd4VK), so feel free to join in the conversation there (and promote your game :) ).
