I've been noodling around in Blender working on something that I though people here might find interesting. It was inspired by a problem I had back in the early days of GMing Dragon Warriors, when I had a hard time getting clearly imagining some of the stuff described in the books. In particular, basic stuff like how long a given distance actually is and the appearance of spells was hard to grasp well enough for me to create a mental picture. At least for me.

Anyway, my little project is to try to illustrate some of these things. To help me I've enlisted Mr and Mrs Wodenkrait:

as well as some bland folks called Mooks who appear when we need a crowd.

Here are some examples:

I also uploaded a little test animation of Dragonbreath: https://youtu.be/ma1EUGm-vN0

Is anybody interested in seeing more?

Cheers,

-Kyle

:D I'm enjoying the visuals! Liked the Dragonbreath video!

How do you use these in your games Kyle?

Definitely. That range on Dragonbreath is a real eye opener!

Alas I have no games of my own right now. This project is mainly for my own amusement but already it has given me some clarity on things I should have known for 30 years, like how long 20 metres is, or what moonglow really looks like; since 1985 I've somehow managed to hold onto the ill-conceived notion that when the sorcerer casts Moonglow he starts glowing like the moon, and only when I reread the description closely in order to simulate it did I realise is says nothing of the kind.

Cheers,

-Kyle

Well I always wanted to see how Nova and Deathlight works. I mean those ray spells that fork and hit multiple targets... You have any visuals for those? ;D
